Job Summary/Essential Functions of the Job:
Under the direct supervision of the designated Stage Manager, Technical Supervisors and Production Manager, the Sound Technician is responsible for maintaining and operating the sound board during Entertainment productions in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Sound Technician will also assist with other technical duties within the Entertainment Department.
Due to the nature of Lagoon’s business, the Sound Technician may be required to work for longer than normal work periods. The position is seasonal. The work schedule will vary from 0 to 40 hours per week during the rehearsal weeks and 0 to 60 hours per week during the performance season. The Sound Technician must be willing and able to work flexible hours, six days a week from as early as 7:00 a.m. to as late as 1:00 a.m. including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Sound Technician agrees to work as scheduled by the Company. The work schedule will be, but not limited to, two hours before the first performance to the end of the last performance.
The Sound Technician must be willing to conform to Lagoon’s grooming and personal hygiene requirements and wear the proper issued uniform. A neat, clean, professional appearance is required at all times.
Unique Job Requirements:

Sound Technicians will assist in the sound set-up, operation, and take-down of all sound equipment used for the assigned performance. The Sound Technician must be willing to assist in all other show set-up and tear-down as needed.

Sound Technicians will be responsible for all sound equipment and ensure that the equipment is properly maintained, stored, secured, cleaned, and properly issued as needed.

The Sound Technician will play a vital roll in ensuring that each performance begins on time.

Sound Technician must be willing, and able, to assist with television promotions being held out of the normal performance hours.

Sound Technician must work as a team and maintain a high level of professional conduct.

Sound Technicians will assist in general cleaning duties of Entertainment stages and locations before, between, and after performances.

The Sound Technicianmust exhibit a high degree of motivation toward providing guest satisfaction and must be able to deal with many guests each day in a positive and friendly manner.

During trainings and rehearsal periods, the Sound Technicianmust be able to read and assimilate information provided in the Entertainment Manual and the Seasonal Employee Handbook, and comprehend verbal instructions from the training supervisor.

The Sound Technicianwill be working around high noise levels resulting from amusement rides and various equipment. The Performer must be able to remain focused on the job while dealing with interruptions from guests and/or other employee contact.

Required Relationships

Each Sound Technician will be working with all levels of the Entertainment Department staff and various levels of other departments to which the Entertainment Department operation is related.

Each Sound Technician will be in contact with a high volume of guests on a daily basis, which requires good guest service skills and ability.

Required Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years of age by Department orientation of the performance season.

Experience and knowledge of sound equipment is essential with regards to wireless mic’s and sound mixing. .
